Running from work to my yogaclass does not always give me the time to prepare a proper meal. Luckily I live in Amsterdam. There are so many good health oppurtunies, like restautant SLA, which is really my favorite. I really want to write a blogpost about these huge salad bowls you can find here. But, today there was no time to really enjoy their food.
My yogaclass started at 6.30 pm and it was already 6 o'clock. I sensed my level of hungriness and I had no appetite in soup or a large bowl. For lunch I went to Vlaamsch Broodhuys where I bought a fantastic bread full of walnuts, soft ginger, raisins. I ate almost the whole bread without anything on top so I was not that hungry now. I learned over time not to just eat because you-might-feel-hungry-about-an-hour or so. I took a deep breath and examined my body. I wanted to go for something quick, sweet, filling, that would energise me and not so expensive... SLA sells slices of cakes, €5 for a tiny raw lime-avocado slice.
Then I saw these little boxes named 'Ridiculously Goods' and written with curly letters "Organic Raw Chocolate". For €2,50 they were mine and I stood already outside. Hmmm, this was the perfect energizer before class. I waited till I was back in the yogastudio and had a moment for myself. I took the 'jolly ginger and abricot' but they have several types. With the autumn coming up I long more and more for ginger. Ginger is a very warming spice which is very healthy for your stomach, juicing up the appetite and warming up your body. It will make your internal fire burn more.
The box contained two little round chocolates. Hmmm, the first bite was firm and soft at the same time. The hard chocolate layer on top made it crispy while the abricots inside made it sweet and soft. I found out you had to chew a few times so that makes you feel you are eating a good snack. The taste of the ginger made it spicy and juicy. It had a beautiful aftertaste with a sparkling.sensation in your mouth. Hmmm, I loved it. Chewy, sweet, filling, just perfect for the right moment in short ridicylously goooooooood! I was ready to teach my class.
