The funny thing is... I am not that much into burgers. When you buy a vegatarian hamburger in the supermarket it is made of soy or it contains egg white from chickens...not really vegan. When you go out, the burger is served with white bread and not so much veggies. Too less for me.
This weekend I was happy to be at this beautiful festival named 'Retreat Yourself'. Everything was perfectly organized and you could join lots of yoga sessions, breathing therapy, massages appointments and of course you could taste and eat of the perfect food creations by ChiSpa and Vuur & Vlam (Fire and Flame).
Shortly, there were very young entrepreneurs who were happy to share their build up wisdom and experiences with us. I enjoyed it a lot. Even the weather was not that great, we stayed dry most of the time and if I was a little bit cold, people around me warmed me up with their friendliness. We did this mantra singing session on an uninhabited island nearby and we sang our heart out to get warm.
Among all the delicious food you could grab during the day, there was one foodtruck named 'Holy Basil'. They had a simple menu: soup and a burger. This time, I went for the burger. I thought it was the perfect moment to get convinced a burger is tasty for lunch! The weather was a bit coldish and after 3 hours of yoga I starved for a big meal.
A men and lady stood behind the kitchen stove. I asked wheather the burger contained any milk products which was not the case. Vegan all over te place! Yeah!
The burger tasted very good thanks to the weather. If I would have been 25 degrees I would never have digged in to this lunch. The burger it self was very tasty: made of sweet potato and three types of paprika it tasted pure and solid and a good bite. The creamy guacemole and addtional tomatoes fitted perfectly. And, the roll was sturdy and made of whole wheat. It was just delicious and I sank down in a lot of hmmmm's.
Thanks to Holy Basil I was saturated the whole day long and I could run back and forth to all these beautiful workshops the festival offered! Retreat Yourself, see you next year!
