SPIRIT is new. Everything is fresh made and prepared in the huge kitchen inside. Also nice: on the other side of the restaurant there is this big organic supermarket called Odin. With the plate we decide to sit outside while watching a lot of people coming by.
The concept of SPIRIT is brilliant. You can just grap a plate and take whatever you want. They offer sooo many different kinds of salads, mains, desserts. Make sure you walk first a couple of times around the counter before you decide. In front of every plate there is a card which explains the ingredients and with symbols indicates if vegan/glutenfree/etc. or not. Very clear.
With your favorite plate you go to the counter and put your plate on a scale. They weigh the food and you pay. Take away is possible too and a bit cheaper. We decide to eat in and sit outside.
We got a big plate of savories first. The corn cookie is a bit fat but nicely crunchy. The rendang steak which is very spicy and the meat is not dry at all. Knowing SPIRIT is open from 11 till 23 the food is totally fresh and not dried out.
As a vegetarian I got the seitan which had the structure of a sponge but the taste is very characteristic. Probably it has been marinated for a very long time.
Besides that I took one piece of saté made of tempé. It has a very interesting different structure, spicy and it contains a lot of nuts, fried crunchy onions, appetizing. I would take this definitely again the next time.
